We are a global automotive supplier of pump, valvetrain, transmission and electric drive components and systems. Due to company growth, we are adding a skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to the team. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree, proven experience in the automotive industry and global sourcing experience.

Manage purchasing team for all commodities, from new product introduction to annual purchase/supplier maintenance
Establish commodity strategies, drive domestic and global sourcing based on cost and supplier performance
Resident expert on purchasing specific commodities for brushless motors, PCBA's, controllers and electronics
Lead sourcing for supplier contracting from RFQ, supplier assessment, net present value analysis, negotiating, final sourcing and launch. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensure sourcing the best suppliers at appropriate time, encouragement of supplier involvement during product design phase, ensure pre-production parts and materials are available as required, tooling and component purchase orders are issued at appropriate time.
Improve purchasing processes, controls and procedures that support operating goals, develop future leaders, identify mentoring opportunities, provide challenging assignments, delegate stretch projects to accelerate development and hire additional staff as organization grows
Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Program Management, Quality, etc.) to manage supplier selection. Ability to read, analyze, interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, legal documents and engineering drawings.
Prepare Annual Headcount, Expense and Purchasing Price Variance Forecast for business planning purposes
Prepare, review and update monthly reports to track/forecast Purchasing performance to budget, provide clear direction and actions to ensure targets are met. Identify and achieve cost reduction goals by collaborating with our parent company to leverage corporate purchasing power
Establish and submit for approval and managing the annual and 5 year budget planning requirements that link to annual and 5 year business plan
Initiates quoting that provides real cost estimates for Sales and Marketing, cost competitive BOM that will be the baseline for initial quoting to customers
Conduct or support supplier manufacturing feasibility reviews, supplier kick-off meetings. May also conduct and support supplier technical reviews
Leads multi-discipline projects or teams and interfaces with change project teams. Track, report and communicate market conditions, pricing and supply trends, purchasing techniques and new products
Create and maintain PO's in MRP database. Support cross country (US and China) communication and transfer of business systems and practices for strategic purposes
10+ years of Supply Chain experience focused on automotive industry
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Program Management or Engineering discipline required
Six Sigma or comparable improvement methodologies
Experience with high voltage battery products, brushless motors, PCBA's, electronic components preferred, purchasing major commodities (Electronics, Die Castings, Sintered Metal, Stampings, Machined, Cold Headed products)
Demonstrated leadership of work teams and working across functions
Exceptional presentation, written, analytical and verbal communication skills
High energy, teamwork, and passion for developing team members/programs
