Accountant

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial data, performing reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization and supporting various accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform financial data analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Conduct FP&A activities to assess financial performance and forecasts.
• Manage bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Assist with month-end activities, including journal entries and financial closing.
• Prepare and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Handle purchase orders and manage GL account reconciliations.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Manage billing and invoice portals to streamline operations.
• Ensure compliance with state sales tax regulations and perform reconciliations.
• Address inbox inquiries regarding financial transactions and accounts.
• Analyze gross profit margins and conduct sales analysis.
• Monitor budget variances and operating expenses for financial efficiency.
• Track inventory movement to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with outside auditing and prepare necessary documentation for the annual audit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Experience with financial data analysis and FP&A processes.
• Proficiency in bank reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
• Familiarity with financial reporting software and ERP systems, preferably Epicor Prophet 21.
• Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in using spreadsheets, including Vlookup and Pivot Tables.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
