Recruiter Spotlight: Luke Pallo

By The CyberCoders Team - September 9th, 2021
Inside CyberCoders

Luke Pallo was born and raised in Wisconsin. In 2018, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a bachelor's degree in communications. Right from the start, he had a talent for driving strategic conversations. He began his career in software and technology sales. He also consulted for an international company. This professional experience built a strong foundation for his career, but something critical was missing: passion. He didn’t have a passion for the products or services he was delivering on, which eventually made it difficult to be successful and happy.

He describes finding CyberCoders life-altering, “Since starting in March of 2021, I have been much more successful in this role, waking up every day excited for work, and just a more complete and happier person.” In his first 6 months, he has achieved high levels of success as a Recruiter and is on track to be promoted to Executive Recruiter next month.

Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to learn more about him and hear his advice for anyone looking to join CyberCoders.

  1. What is your favorite part about being a recruiter?

One thing I was always envious of growing up were individuals that had their career path already planned out or paved away for them. I was never the person who knew exactly what I would do or what company I wanted to work for.

That changed when I became a Recruiter. As a Recruiter, I can help someone discover a company or a role they want, and that is so rewarding for me. Making a sale is a great feeling, but impacting someone by finding them a new career or new employer and knowing they couldn’t have done it without you is a feeling that cannot be rivaled by much!

  1. Tell us about an exciting job match you made recently.

I love working with clients in my own backyard, and at the end of spring, I began working with a technology firm in Milwaukee. Although I’d love to say we came in and placed someone immediately, they had very particular requirements for their next developer. After many interviews and rounds of feedback, we found them the right fit after 3 months! Without my help, I don’t think they would have found the right person for the role. Having a capable full-time hire in the seat 3 months later is way better than the company having that gap for the rest of the year or settling for someone that won’t do as good of a job as the person we found!

  1. How has CyberCoders supported your success?

CyberCoders has given me a really healthy balance of being comfortable and confident in the role, but also challenging me and pushing the “proud but never satisfied” mentality. In my first full quarter, I had the highest billing in my hiring class, which I was very proud of. At the same time, my team had almost everyone above $100k billing for the quarter as well as the Rookie of the Quarter (shoutout to the Rookie of the Quarter Venus, and the rest of the team Jeremy, Augustine, and our fearless leader Jonathan!). This team has unknowingly pushed me to never settle, and we have all been supportive in that mentality to one another.

  1. Tell us about your experience in the remote training program.

I would consider the training program I experienced here top notch especially for going through it in a completely remote format, not even one year after the entire company moved remote. Sarah, Dani, and the rest of the team were very engaging and could pull from their own experiences with different platforms and tactics in recruiting.

  1. What advice would you give to someone interested in joining your team?

My advice would be – never take your foot off the gas pedal. This is definitely a role and environment where you get out what you put into it. You want to cruise by? Maybe that works for a little while. Want to have a chance to further your professional growth and become more strategic everyday while making connections all around the nation with top companies in the industry AND fulfilling your personal and financial goals? You can. The skies the limit at CC!
